 With more than thirty years of experience in the field of architecture, Mr. Eugene (Gene) Surber has designed a wide range of new and adaptive reuse projects including single and multi-family residences, office buildings, institutional and educational buildings, country clubs, museums, welcome centers, and worship facilities. Mr. Surber is both personally and professionally active in the fields of historic preservation and rehabilitation and is known in the state of Georgia as an authority on these subjects.

Mr. Surber's dedication to the rehabilitation and preservation of structures and communities in Georgia has been recognized by the architectural community with several awards, including a 1993 AIA Georgia Bronze Award, the 1991 AIA Atlanta Ivan Allen Senior Award recognizing community service, and a 1986 AIA Atlanta Special Award. In 1992, he was voted Volunteer of the Year by the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.

Mr. Surber received his Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is currently involved with the following professional and civic organizations:
