Nestled in the lush mountains of western North Carolina, Wade Hampton Golf Club boasts a championship caliber 18-hole golf course designed by Tom Fazio. Surber Barber Choate & Hertlein provided architectural and engineering design services for the clubhouse, cart barn, five club cottages, and a five-unit guest cottage.

In keeping with the rustic mountain setting, the 14,000 square foot clubhouse features natural wood shingles at the exterior and is embraced by 5,000 square feet of shaded porches. The interior features wood paneled walls and ceilings and heavy support timbers. A large stone fireplace serves as the focal point for the lounge and main dining room. A wide bay window overlooks the terrace and golf course and allows natural light into the main dining room. The kitchen is accessible from both the dining room, dining porch, and the men's grill. The pro shop and men's and women's locker rooms are located near the golf staging area.

The five guest cottages and five-unit guest cottage echo the design of the clubhouse. Like the clubhouse, these two and four bedroom cottages have large porches and shingles on the exterior. Each private bedroom suite has a separate entrance and is connected with the unit's lounge and kitchen facilities.
