The historic pavilion sits in the middle of the picturesque Cator Woolford Memorial Gardens in the Druid Hills neighborhood of Atlanta. The features of the Cator Woolford Pavilion have been restored to their original character and detail. On the exterior of the pavilion, the existing clay tile roof, decorative wood rafters, tails and copper gutters, and downspouts have been restored and repaired as needed. The original stucco veneer and marble detailing have been retained. The entry to the Pavilion is designed to reflect the original configuration and accommodate the disabled.
The interior of the Pavilion is opened up to be a single space for receptions and meetings. The original fireplace, skylight and decorative moldings have been restored. The adjacent building will be a catering kitchen to serve the garden and pavilion events.
A comprehensive study was done which included a rendering of the restored Pavilion; the Garden Plan, prepared by Daugherty Anderson & Associates Landscape Architects; the Pavilion Plan; a Descriptive Outline of the Pavilion Restoration; the Pavilion Cost Estimate, prepared by Costing Services Group; and the Pavilion Project Budget.
