This new mixed-use development is located on the west side of Atlanta and draws inspiration from the industrial character of the area. The project consists of five, six-story buildings arranged around a central green space. The lower levels of each building accommodate retail and live/work uses while the upper levels are dedicated to residential units. The architecture embraces a modular concrete tunnel form system which provides both structure and finish for the units. The buildings are connected by an exterior walkway system which open to the courtyard. The courtyard functions as a shared outdoor space, and it also brings more daylight and ventilation to each unit. The five-story parking structure is concealed toward the back of the site and is connected to the building with exterior bridges.
In keeping with the modular industrial paradigm, the building materials are stucco, concrete, and glass. Concrete site walls provide a solid base for the buildings, and metal canopies and balconies add the final touch to this positive model for infill housing.
