Formerly the home of the Southern Spring Bedding Company and comprised of buildings dating back to 1864, the Mattress Factory is now a unique and fascinating mixed-use complex. With approximately 175,000 square feet of creative commercial and retail space along with 171 loft residences, the property currently provides space to an eclectic mix of some of Atlanta's most prominent and aspiring artists and artisans. Skyline views display the fireworks at the Atlanta Brave's home field of Turner Stadium, the golden dome of the state capitol ,and the skyscrapers along the spine of Atlanta's Peachtree Street growth, from downtown to Buckhead.
The lofts were designed to offer thoughtful architecture and design in the creative spirit of the development. Aged concrete, brick, timber, and steel display a patina formed by generations of use. The sculpture of original materials and industrial machinery is juxtaposed with new features such as full overlay maple finish cabinetry, tongue and groove pine flooring, cast iron enamel bath fixtures, and Italian tile.
