This loft condominium development was carefully designed to sensitively fit into an existing tree covered hilltop. The building consists of three levels of double height residential units over two levels of underground parking. The project includes 40 unique units, with a variety of sizes and layouts. To take full advantage of the downtown views and to create the desired loft aesthetic, high ceilings, exposed structure, open spaces, and large windows were incorporated into each unit. Private balconies give each resident an outdoor space adjacent to the living area.
The building materials consist of exposed concrete, stucco walls, and aluminum windows. The interior finishes continue the minimal aesthetic to create clean and simple spaces.
The project, located on one of the highest points in the city, is adjacent to Freedom Parkway and its associated parklands which combine to provide easy access to downtown, the interstate system, and the expanding recreation trail system.
The end result of the project demonstrates that new urban infill housing can look "new" while still maintaining the integrity of its site's surroundings if there is thoughtful design.
