Paying tribute to Atlanta's first women architect, Leila Ross Wilburn (who designed the original Piedmont Park Apartment building), this adjacent new construction condominium development consists of a four story building wrapped around three levels of hidden, underground parking and a three story building over an additional level of hidden parking. The condominium buildings were both designed to respect the original historic building, so all exterior materials were chosen to be similar and include brick, stucco, and wood bracketed roof overhangs.
The new development includes 39 units, each having a balcony with views of Piedmont Park. The top floor units have mezzanines and roof terraces that have dramatic park and Atlanta skyline views. Along with the new construction, there were three additional units, storage units, a multi-purpose room, and an elevator added in the previously renovated original building.
With the project being located in the heart of midtown Atlanta, special care was taken to ensure that the project reinforced the already strong pedestrian nature of this emerging neighborhood.
